7★ Mighty Decidueye raid in Scarlet & Violet — catch guide (May 2026)
By Thomas Laize ·
Every weekend, Scarlet & Violet's 7★ Tera Raids feature a level 100 boss with the Mighty Mark — one catch per event, but repeatable battles to farm materials and XP. From May 16 through May 22, 2026 (Paris time), it's Decidueye's turn, Rowlet's final evolution. Here's how to beat it, catch it for free, and where to find its TCG cards on rateTCG.
A level 100 Grass Tera Decidueye
Like previous starter finale raids (Venusaur, Miraidon, etc.), this event is part of the partner final-evolution tour across generations. Decidueye — Rowlet's Alola-line evolution — arrives in a 7★ raid with the Mighty Mark: in practice, its stats are well above a typical wild Decidueye, and the fight demands a team built for the Tera Raid format.
Announced community window: from the May 16 weekend through Thursday May 22, 2026 at 1:59 AM (Paris time). The boss is Grass Tera (not Flying — some announcements mix the Pokémon's type with the in-game Tera display; the moveset here confirms a Grass focus). Fixed level: 100. Shiny: no (no guaranteed shiny on the event catch).
Moveset and offensive pressure
- Triple Arrows — multi-target damage, punishes fragile teams.
- Brave Bird — priority or speed pressure depending on raid setup.
- Shadow Claw — coverage against Psychic or Ghost supports.
- Leaf Blade — direct Grass STAB.
- Bulk Up / Swords Dance — power scaling: anticipate a snowball if you let the boss buff.
- Grassy Terrain and Grassy Glide — Grass field + chip damage: favor Pokémon resistant to Grass or able to remove terrain.
Catch once, farm as much as you want
7★ raid rule: you can rerun the battle as many times as needed during the event to collect Herba Mysticas, Ability Patches, Bottle Caps, XP and other optimization rewards. However, catching the Mighty Mark boss is only possible once per save for the entire event — choose an appropriate Ball (Premier Ball for aesthetics, Ultra Ball for reliability) when you're sure you want to keep this version.
Online battles with other Trainers generally require Nintendo Switch Online. Without a subscription, you can still prepare your build solo before joining community groups (Discord, social media) if you don't have the membership.
Enable the event in the Poké Portal
- Launch Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet on Nintendo Switch.
- Open the X menu then Poké Portal (internet connection required).
- Complete the main story if you haven't — 7★ raids are locked until the campaign ends.
- Go to the Mystery Gift tab.
- Check "Receive Poké Portal News".
- Reopen the Poké Portal: the Decidueye event should appear; select a 7★ Tera crystal on the world map.
While Winds & Waves wait until 2027…
Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves (Generation X) aren't expected before 2027. Meanwhile, Game Freak and The Pokémon Company keep Scarlet & Violet alive with these weekly rotations, while Pokémon Legends: Z-A on Switch feeds the Mega Evolution ecosystem. On the TCG side, the Mega Evolution block (including Chaos Ascendant on May 22) captures collector attention — but Decidueye cards from Scarlet & Violet sets remain prized for Illustration Rares.
Decidueye in the Pokémon TCG
The video game event doesn't distribute physical cards, but it's the perfect time to build a collection around the Pokémon. On rateTCG, the Decidueye character page lists TCG cards, boxes from sets where it appears, and modeled pull rates per sealed product — useful if you're moving from Switch raids to Amazon purchases.

FAQ
How long is the 7★ Decidueye raid available?
The event is announced until May 22, 2026 at 1:59 AM (Paris time). After that, the crystal disappears from the map until the next official rotation.
Can you catch multiple Mighty Mark Decidueye?
No: one catch per save per event. You can still repeat the battle for victory rewards.
What Tera type does this boss have?
The raid is announced as Grass Tera (Grass-focused moveset: Leaf Blade, Grassy Terrain, Grassy Glide). Don't confuse it with the Pokémon's Flying type in other modes.
Do you need Nintendo Switch Online?
For online raids with other players, yes. Solo on your own crystal, a subscription isn't required to fight the boss.
