Common questions

What counts as a booster box here?

Sealed product built around openings: several packs from one set, sometimes a promo or figure, without the full ETB kit (sleeves, dice, playmat). Mega Charizard and Mega Lucario bundles are the usual examples.

How is that different from an ETB?

An ETB is the tournament-style box with accessories and a collector promo. Booster bundles focus on raw pack volume. To compare budgets, divide price by pack count — the rateTCG comparator does that across the catalog.

How many packs are in these boxes?

It varies a lot: a themed bundle might have 4–6 packs; an Ultra Premium Collection can go up to 18. The count is on each card below and on the rateTCG product page.

How do I read the pull expectations?

Open a box page: you get the set’s card list sorted by expectation (rarest first). Expectation means average copies if you open every pack in the product — not a promise for your next single pack.

Which Mega Evolution box should I pick?

Mega Charizard (holo promo) and Mega Lucario ex (+ figure) bundles stay the most popular. If you’re chasing one card, open its page to see expectations per catalog format.

Is an Ultra Premium Collection worth it?

Often yes on €/pack: 18 packs in the Mega Charizard UPC, for example, mechanically lifts every card’s expectation. Still check total price and whether you care about the included promos — not everyone collects them.

Can I trust the Amazon prices shown here?

We sync when Amazon’s API cooperates; otherwise you may see a catalog fallback. Checkout price on Amazon is what counts. Links are affiliate — noted under the page title.

I’m chasing one card — where do I start?

Search it from the Pokémon hub: rateTCG lists ETBs and booster boxes whose packs share the same expansion, with expectation per product. The pull calculator helps if you want a budget number.

How do I compare two booster boxes?

Start with price per pack (price ÷ pack count), then the expectation for your chase card on each product page. A cheaper box upfront can lose if it has fewer packs or a set that’s worse for the rarity you want.
