Common questions

What is a Pokémon TCG expansion?

A set of cards to collect or play: Mega Evolution, Prismatic Evolutions, Shrouded Fable… Each has its card list, rarities and sealed products on the market. This page groups the ones we track in the rateTCG catalog.

How do I navigate this page?

Pick a tile: you open the set page with all cards, pull expectations by rarity and available Amazon boxes for that expansion. The “from” price is the cheapest box in the set at compute time.

What’s on a set page?

The full card list (sorted by rarity), modeled pull expectations, and catalog ETBs or bundles whose packs belong to this expansion — with prices and Amazon links.

Which sets are in the catalog?

Expansions tied to sealed products we track on Amazon: mostly recent Scarlet & Violet and Mega Evolution lines. The list grows as we add boxes — not every historical expansion is covered yet.

How do I compare two expansions?

Open each set page for rarity mix and SIR hint. Statistics aggregates average SIR cost per expansion; the comparator ranks all boxes by €/pack across the catalog.

Are per-set pull rates official?

No. The Pokémon Company doesn’t publish a public per-rarity grid. rateTCG computes expectations from typical booster structure and cards on pokemontcg.io — magnitudes to compare, not a promise for your next pack.

Can I trust the Amazon prices on the tiles?

It’s the minimum price among boxes in the set at page load. We sync when Amazon responds; always confirm on Amazon before buying. Product pages use affiliate links.

How is this different from the Cards page?

Cards starts from a card name (global search). Here you start from the expansion: see the whole set and linked boxes at once. Handy when you ask “what’s in Prismatic Evolutions?” rather than “where is this card?”

My expansion isn’t listed — what now?

It may not be linked to a catalog box yet. You can still search a specific card on Cards; if a recent set is missing, report it via Contact with the name or id (e.g. sv8pt5).
